Copper braids are highly flexible conductors used in a wide range of applications to create electrical connections.

They are mainly employed for power connections, grounding, and equipotential conductors, thanks to their ability to adapt to complex configurations and tight spaces.

Copper braids are produced by intertwining multiple very fine strands, each with a diameter of approximately 0.20 mm, forming a single bundle. Depending on the final application, several bundles can be further braided together to create a small braid or combined again to achieve the desired cross-section.

Copper Braid: 3 Main Types

FLAT
This version follows the same construction process as the tubular braid but includes an additional flattening step between rollers to achieve precise thickness and width.
It is ideal for ground connections, equipotential connections, and power connections. In industrial applications, it provides high flexibility, allowing compensation for misalignments between connected components. It also effectively absorbs vibrations, such as those generated when connected to a transformer.
For the same cross-section, flat braids can carry significantly higher currents than traditional cables or copper bars.

ROUND
Made by tightly braiding several bundles into a solid cylindrical structure.
It can be used for power and grounding connections and serves as a valid alternative to insulated electrical cables when properly coated. Compared to traditional cables, round braids offer higher current-carrying capacity and exceptional flexibility for the same cross-section.

TUBULAR
This type is produced by braiding very fine strands to create a hollow interior.
It is often used as a protective sleeve for electrical cables placed inside the braid. This provides protection against electromagnetic interference and potential mechanical damage, ensuring effective shielding.
